Rohini Mohan's The Seasons of Trouble is reviewed today in The Economist's literary and cultural blog Prospero. Mohan's piercing account of Sri Lanka's 25-year civil war is buoyed by the stories of three Tamils she spent five years talking with.

Reviewer H.K.G. says Seasons is enveloped by "lives that have been almost swallowed whole by an everyday, disturbingly low-key sort of brutality that rarely registers on the Western consciousness...[it] focuses on the humanity of those caught up in the horrors. As a result, despite the violence its characters endure, it retains a poetic tone that helps Ms Mohan produce a thoroughly absorbing book."
