The Invention of Paris announced as finalist for French translation prize
David Fernbach has been announced as a finalist for the anual French-American Foundation and Frances Gould Foundation French Translation Prize for his translation of Eric Hazan's The Invention of Paris.
The award, now in its 24th year, is meant to honor the best French to English translations of 2010 in fiction and non-fiction categories. Each winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize funded by the Florence Gould Foundation and will be honored at a ceremony in May in New York City. See the official press release for more details.
