Slavoj Žižek has, several times and with increasing emphasis, made it clear what he believes to be the purpose of philosophy: not to answer questions, but ask better ones. … This book asks as many questions as it answers, a trait typical in Žižek’s corpus. This isn’t a bad thing, because spoon-feeding people revolutionary maxims is nowhere near as effective as leaving your readers outraged at the end of your book, and forcing them to come up with their own solutions to pressing dilemmas. By Žižek’s standards, then, the book must be a success.
