A discussion session and close guided reading led by Lola Olufemi of selected manifestos in this landmark collection spanning four generations of feminist activism and writing. Burn It Down: Feminist Manifestos for the Revolution is a window on historical feminist thought, providing a prompt to consider contemporary activisms as part of the series Feminist Resistance: Strategies for the 21st Century, partnership between Verso and the Whitechapel Gallery to mark Verso's 50th anniversary.
Lola Olufemi is a black feminist writer and organiser from London. She is the co-author of A FLY Girl’s Guide to University: Being a Woman of Colour at Cambridge and Other Institutions of Power and Elitism (Verve Poetry Press, 2019) and the forthcoming book Feminism, Interrupted: Disrupting Power set to be published by Pluto Press in March 2020.
