This Friday Salon will focus on digital culture and the questions around intellectual property, trolling and creativity raised by the increased transmissibility and reproducibility of information enabled by the internet.
Looking at hacker culture, twitter Maoism and weird twitter, McKenzie Wark, author of The Spectacle of Disintegration: Situationist Passages out of the Twentieth Century, will examine these issues alongside writer and artist Huw Lemmey. They will also discuss contemporary politicised cultural collectives that echo organisational models of radical leftist groups such as the Situationist International, and their intersection with the online practices of digital natives, who have grown up in a digital world.
