A scathing critique of celebrity's most famous philanthropic frontman.
Bono has built a second career as a voice for the poor and disempowered of the world as the figurehead of global anti-poverty campaigns. But behind the PR, the U2 singer has been busy defending the status quo with paternalistic neoliberal policies in Africa, his own multinational business interests and hobnobbing with America's most powerful neocons. Harry Browne, author of The Frontman: Bono (In the Name of Power) will discuss Bono's role as frontman for the rich and powerful and how his political advocacy has made the world worse.

Come down and listen to Harry Browne in conversation with author Dan Hancox on Friday 14th June at Rough Trade East. The event is free and unticketed.
