John Berger (1926-2017) was one of the world’s most influential thinkers and writers. As a novelist, he won the Booker and donated half his prize money to the Black Panthers; as a critic, he changed how we looked at art in Ways of Seeing; as an activist, he defended the rights and dignity of workers, migrants and the oppressed around the world.

In addition to our John Berger Essentials Series and Tom Overton’s definitive new biography, we are commemorating his 100th birthday this November with a limited printing of embroidered Art and Revolution baseball caps.
