Suite (212) returns

One of Verso's favourite podcasts Suite (212) returns for a new series, with a series of interviews with a range of contemporary artists, writers and filmmakers and other cultural figures about their work, asking about the political issues that inspire them and the socio-economic conditions that have shaped their practice.

Suite (212) returns

Since July 2017, Juliet Jacques (author of Trans: A Memoir) has co-hosted a radio programme called Suite (212), which looks at the arts in their social, cultural, political and historical contexts. Its run on Resonance 104.4fm ended in July 2019, but in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, Juliet has decided to bring Suite (212) back as a podcast, relaunching it with a series of interviews with contemporary artists, writers and filmmakers and other cultural figures about their work, asking about the political issues that inspire them and the socio-economic conditions that have shaped their practice.

So far, Juliet has spoken to the artists Ilona Sagar, Erica Scourti, joint Turner Prize-winner Tai Shani and Verso author Owen Hatherley, with many more interviews scheduled – you can listen to those via Soundcloud or iTunes, and if you would like to support the programme, you can subscribe at https://www.patreon.com/suite212 or make a one-off donation at https://donorbox.org/suite-212.
